The Coolpix P90 offers the unbeatable compositional freedom of a quality 24x Zoom-NIKKOR that features outstanding focal range from 26mm wide-angle to 624mm super-telephoto. You can also macro shoot from as close as 1 cm (0.4 inch.) from your subject.

The 3" vari-angle LCD adds greater framing freedom.

Given the versatile reach and range of the 24x zoom lens, you are certain to find yourself wanting to shoot from the hip, or from a higher angle. That is why, as well as its electronic viewfinder, the em>Nikon Coolpix P90 boasts a three inch high resolution vari-angle LCD with anti reflection coating. You can tilt the LCD upward as much as 90 degrees, or forty five degrees downward.

Advanced shooting modes (P, S, A, and M). The mode dial provides quick access to greater personal control over using the camera and great creative possibilities offered by Programmed Auto [P], Shutterpriority Auto [S], Aperture-priority Auto [A], and Manual [M] exposure modes.

ISO 6400 capability light sensitivity range up to ISO 6400* provides extra opportunities to take crisper, more natural looking photos in lower light conditions, or when shooting fast moving objects. ISO 3200 and 6400 can only be used for image sizes of 3M (2048 x 1536) or smaller.

This Nikon P90 boasts 15 frames per second high speed capability. Sport Continuous Mode allows you to shoot as many as forty five consecutive pictures at 15 fps to remain in front of most any action scene you want to capture. Furthermore, the pre-shooting cache option enables you to record as many as 10 frames just before releasing the shutter. Feature only available for image sizes of 3M (2048 x 1536) or smaller.

The generous 3" vari-angle LCD monitor can be tilted up by as much as ninety degrees, or downwards by up to 45 degrees. The screen also has an anti-reflection coating.

The Coolpix P90 has a NIKKOR wide angle 24x zoom lens with super-telephoto capability which gives sharp resolution and outstanding precision. (35mm [135] film format equivalent: 26 - 624mm.)

The 4x anti-blur automatically counters blurred images in 4 different ways. Sensor-shift VR (Vibration Reduction) lowers the effect of the camera shaking. High ISO (up to 6400*) light sensitivity lowers the risk of blurred images with fast moving subjects or in poor light. Motion detection makes up for both subject and camera movement. Best Shot Selector (BSS) automatically chooses the sharpest of as many as ten sequential shots.

Exposure Modes (P/S/A/M) for greater creative control. Programmed Auto (P), Shutter-priority Auto (S), Aperture-priority Auto (A) and Manual (M).

Smart portrait system: advanced automatic features for perfect portraits. It has a smile timer and blink warning which alerts you when the subject had closed their eyes.

The Nikon Coolpix P90 electronic viewfinder assists you frame images accurately throughout the entire zoom range and facilitates steady, sharp shooting, even in bright sunlight.

High-speed continuous shooting with pre-shooting cache lets you shoot up to forty five continuous shots at fifteen frames per second. It also gives you an option to press the shutter half way and record the moments that take place before you press the shutter fully, so that you never have to worry about being a little bit too late again.

12.1 megapixel resolution lets you take incredibly detailed images, crop creatively and end up with stunningly sharp poster size enlargements.

Advanced Face priority (AF) with in-camera red-eye fix lets you quickly detect and focus accurately on up to twelve faces in the frame, and also corrects false eye color due to flash the moment you take the shot.

Quick Retouch allows you to enhance pixtures taken under less than perfect conditions so that they appear sharp and vibrant. The original image remains intact and the camera quickly produces a duplicate image with the best balance of saturation and contrast.

D-lighting in the Nikon Coolpix P90 creates pleasing results by correcting strong shadows to rescue under exposed images or shots taken with too much backlight.
